Visiting the Marin School of Environmental Leadership
The MarinSEL Shadow Day Program for 2017-2018 application cycle is now complete.
Note: Students who apply to MarinSEL are NOT required to participate in Shadow Days. Exploration Day, a required component of the applications process, will give all student applicants the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a MarinSEL student.
Shadow Days Overview:
To get a first hand look at MarinSEL, we encourage students to spend the morning with us. During a Shadow Day, visiting students are paired with MarinSEL students who will serve as the visitors' guides from zero period to fourth period. On the day of the visit, students should arrive, bright and early, in front of Terra Linda High School at 6:45 a.m. (Note: A special aspect of MarinSEL is starting the school day at zero period, which provides flexibility for innovative sessions such as the Seminar class and field trips.)
The Shadow Day schedule will include observation of numerous diverse and interesting MarinSEL classes. The visiting student will also have an opportunity to join a brief informational session with MarinSEL student leaders to learn about the program and opportunities for involvement in athletics, student government, clubs, activities, and more. The morning will conclude at 11:35am and parents may pick up their students at the front of Terra Linda High School. All shadow request forms/dates are filled on a first come, first served basis.
